Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C is a liver disease caused by the Hepatitis C virus that attacks the liver. Some people are able to clear the virus on their own, shortly after infection; however, in about three-quarters of people, the infection becomes chronic. If left untreated Hepatitis C can progress to the point where it substantially worsens liver function. For many years hepatitis treatments were long, onerous and less than ideal with several well-known side effects. In the recent years new treatments have become available that are simpler, shorter and with a very high cure rate.
